Vijay K A S is a highly experienced L5 Engineer and iOS Architect currently working at Uber, where he is responsible for improving existing systems and innovating new solutions for complex problems. With over 13 years of experience in building and shipping robust, scalable iOS apps, Vijay is a seasoned professional who has worked for some of the biggest names in the industry. Prior to joining Uber, Vijay worked for PayPal, where he was a Member of Technical Staff in the BDMC team. He played a key role in bringing the merchant debit card life cycle operations to the iOS platform, and was responsible for bringing the most used feature of 2020, the QRCode, which accepts payments from customers. He has also worked for Tesco Bengaluru as an SDE-II for iOS development, and led the mobile (iOS & Android) team at India’s leading online jewellery retailer, CaratLane. Vijay has also developed and shipped two highly productive applications, Zoho CRM and Zoho Docs, where he was responsible for high-level and low-level design. He rewrote the architecture of the Zoho CRM iOS App and improved its stability. He also developed and shipped the world's first Virtual Try-On for Earrings app, which increased user engagement and customer satisfaction and increased conversions by 2X. Vijay holds an MCA degree in Computer Applications from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, and a B.Sc. degree in Physics from St. Joseph's College, Tiruchirappalli. He has a diverse tech stack that includes iOS, Senior Software Engineer, Software Engineer, Mobile, Objective-c, Javascript, test, Swift, Android, AWS, Search, Integration, Frontend, Backend, and ReactJS.
